My thoughts on this image
The photo was taken before sunrise from a viewpoint above the Bromo valley. As the first rays of light appeared over the horizon, the volcanic landscape slowly emerged from the darkness. I was particularly fascinated by how the fine grooves on the crater suddenly became visible while fog and clouds covered the valleys. In that moment the scenery felt both otherworldly and very calm, as if the landscape was holding its breath for a second.
