Coastal light on Majorca

The north of Mallorca offers many landscapes worth seeing. After a marvellous hike through the mountains between Artà and the coast, I was able to enjoy some special evening light just before sunset. I captured the movement of the water using an extended exposure time to achieve a romantic effect.

Sunbeams on Santorini

The crater rim, which forms the main island of Thira, rises to over 300 metres out of the Mediterranean. The view across the sea to the other islands of the archipelago is impressive. Shortly before sunset, clouds moved in front of the sun, creating a wonderful colour spectacle. This moment remains unforgettable.

Mallorca - View to Cap de Formentor

The summit of Morro de Catalunya is reached by a steep climb from Cala Figuera cove. A sense of direction and caution are necessary because the path before the summit is unclear. Once at the top, you are rewarded with a beautiful view. This photo was taken halfway up, in the middle of the steep climb that begins west of the bay.

Mallorca - View of the Formentor Peninsula

The north of Majorca offers many landscapes worth seeing. Cap de Formentor stretches far out into the Mediterranean. There are spectacular views in many places. A wide-angle lens with a focal length of 14mm was used for this special perspective.

Mallorca / Majorca - View over Pollença

The island of Mallorca offers very different motifs. Here is a panoramic view of the beautiful old town of Pollença with its sea of houses interspersed with alleys and the Calvary el Calvari, with the Eglésia del Calvari chapel and the Carrer del Calvari staircase leading up to it. The place where the photo was taken is the Puig de Maria, the local mountain opposite. The climb is worthwhile not only because of the wonderful view, but also because the monastery café is very inviting.

Mallorca - View in Artà

About an hour's drive north of the Mallorcan capital, you reach the lovely region around the old town of Artá. It is picturesquely overlooked by the pilgrimage church Sant Salvador and already on the approach you think to guess the worth seeing views that would offer from above.

In the northwest of Majorca, the spectacular peninsula of Formentor stretches far into the Mediterranean Sea. Condition and surefootedness requires the steep climb to the Morro de Catalunya, the view is wonderful. Who can, should take wide-angle and telephoto lens.

The volcanic island of Santorini is a particularly attractive photo location. The village of Oria with its picturesque view attracts many visitors and is the focus of countless photographs. Here, warm evening light bathes everything in a light yellow hue.

Confluence

Here you don't see what you think you see. The photo was taken on the Greek Cyclades island of Milos and it is a white pumice landscape and not fresh snow. The erosion has partly created bizarre shapes and the contrasts of blue and white give a rather unreal touch.
